ac servo motor

Ac Servo Motor Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner for US buyers who need an ac servo motor with a named load inertia, an acceleration profile that separates peak torque from continuous stall torque, and a DC-link voltage the factory can restate as a drive-bus figure. Share quantity and destination so we can request comparable factory wholesale quotes. This site does not sell from stock and does not claim original-equipment identity. A published AKM performance table that splits continuous stall torque from peak torque, dated in the 2026 editorial snapshot, is a unit checklist, not this service’s supply promise. Adjacent equipment families are out of scope here.

Replacement versus new installation

Existing process

If an older servo is being swapped, write remaining flange size, shaft diameter, encoder protocol and the installed ac servo motor drive model. A similar frame without matching commutation and feedback is not a drop-in envelope.

Write inertia, acceleration, dwell and holding-brake function so a replacement quote is compared on the same motion cycle rather than on one catalog torque number.

Duty and operating envelope

An ac servo motor RFQ is useful when feedstock of the driven axis, required output of that axis, and duty cycle are split before factories guess. Torque in Nm without inertia and acceleration is not a complete motion brief. We collect those splits so manufacturers quote the same envelope rather than mixing a bare motor price with an installed drive package.

Material entering the machine
Name the load the axis actually moves (tool mass, fixture, or conveyed part) and how that mass changes between recipes. Reflected inertia at the motor shaft, not only payload kilograms, is the figure factories need to size peak current.
Required output
State positioning tolerance, speed in rpm at the motor or at the load, and whether cycle time is limited by acceleration or by continuous thermal torque. Throughput of the parent machine is useful context, but the servo is sized on the axis motion cycle.
Duty cycle
List acceleration, constant-speed, dwell and deceleration intervals, plus ambient temperature around the motor. Continuous stall torque and peak torque answer different questions; treating a peak rating as indefinitely available overheats windings.

Cost boundaries that change an ac servo motor brief

Machine

Motor, named winding, encoder, brake if required, and the matching ac servo motor drive until the supplier lists extras such as cables, gearboxes or cabinets.

Delivery

Export packing, freight to the US destination, duties and spare encoder cables sit on delivery lines unless written into the equipment total.

Site

Cabinet installation, commissioning travel, cooling water if a cooled drive is used, and SAT witness remain extra until restated as included.

No numerical saving claim without comparable quotations.

Buyer questions before a comparable RFQ

Which procurement scope is covered by ac servo motor?
  1. Representative sample

Provide inertia, transmission ratio, acceleration, speed, dwell and external load throughout one cycle. A single torque number without that cycle is not a representative sample for thermal sizing.

  2. Demonstration

Ask the factory to show continuous thermal demand and short-duration peak demand with the intended drive and DC-link supply, not only a no-load spin.

  3. Acceptance record

Record positioning tolerance, recovery after an interrupted move, and whether a brake is for holding or another defined function under an agreed safe procedure.

What load inertia and acceleration profile define peak and continuous torque, and which duties stay with supplier versus buyer?

Ask the factory to restate peak versus continuous torque against the buyer’s inertia and acceleration. The supplier confirms winding, drive current and thermal assumptions; the buyer owns process data, destination logistics and contract acceptance. Engineering sign-off is not transferred to this sourcing service. Read continuous and peak torque and replacement compatibility before treating two catalog maxima as one configuration.
